Messy Press is an independent children’s publisher and creative studio founded by creative partners, Erica Harrison and Adam Thompson.

Erica has been designing and illustrating in children’s publishing for over 20 years. She has been responsible for many bestselling titles for some of the world’s top children’s publishers. She is also the co-creator of the Detective Stanley Mysteries - a new graphic novel series for younger readers.

Adam hails from the world of creative advertising and marketing, with 20+ years experience at some of the best ad agencies in the world. After starting out as an art director in London, he became an award-winning creative director, and was head of youth brands at the BBC.

The team operates globally from Messy Creative Studio HQ in Auckland, where they create books and projects under the close supervision of studio cat, Luna.
